Welcome to Mahri Clare Art

Hi! I'm Mahri Clare, a self-taught artist based in Southsea, Portsmouth - weaving emotion, identity, and abstraction into vibrant explorations of the female form and face.

My journey with art began at the age of three with a still life — a quiet beginning to a lifelong love affair with colour, texture, and expression.

From early experiments in oil pastels and ink to my current mixed media works blending acrylics, spray paint, and watercolour, my practice is ever-evolving. Each piece is an echo of feeling — a reflection of the beauty I find in light, the human body, and the raw honesty of emotion.  As a former tattoo artist, my work balances fine detail with bold energy.

My pieces have been exhibited in Southsea and featured in the Look Up Portsmouth Street Art Festival 2025, where my love for street culture, storytelling, and femininity found a striking canvas.  I hope that with every brushstroke, I can invite my viewer into a world where vulnerability becomes strength, colour becomes language, and the face becomes a map of what we carry within.

Please browse my site to see my work that is available as prints, or sometimes I do offer original pieces for sale.

I would love to hear from you so feel free to contact me with any questions and/or orders!!
